This is an educational site emphasizing general education, special education, adapted physical education, and health. The site is managed by Jerry L Harris, PhD.

I was involved in education for more than 35 years. My primary emphasis was in the area of Adapted Physical Education. This involved teaching physical education to students with disabilities. I worked with students from preschool age through adult. Students have had a variety of disabilities from mild to severe, as well as multiple disabilities. I also conducted inservice and preservice classes, as well as supervised student teachers and mentored new teachers. My second area of emphasis was assistive technology. I helped students to better participate in the educational environment with the help of “low tech” to “high tech” assistive technology. I believe that technology can provide a very useful role in assisting people with attention difficulties learn to focus better. Finally, I have found that well-designed computer games can be fun, motivating, and educational.

I have several particular interests. One is in the area of health. In addition to physical activity, I believe that the quality of food we eat and water we drink plays a very important role in our health.
